Before your analysis
Take a photo that shows your true coloring
A reliable color analysis starts with neutral, honest light. These five checks remove the biggest sources of error.
1. Face a window
Use soft daylight with the window in front of you. Avoid direct sun, colored lamps, and mixed indoor lighting. Your face should be evenly lit without strong shadows.
2. Skip filters and heavy makeup
Turn off beauty mode, portrait filters, and color presets. If possible, remove foundation, bronzer, strong lipstick, and tinted contact lenses so the analysis sees your natural coloring.
3. Keep your face clear
Look toward the camera with your full face visible. Remove sunglasses and anything covering your skin. Pull very brightly dyed hair away from the face if it casts color onto your skin.
4. Choose a neutral background
A plain white, gray, or beige wall is ideal. Avoid strong colored walls or clothing close to the face because reflected color can shift the result.
5. Use the original image
Upload a clear JPG, PNG, or WebP file at least 320 pixels wide and tall, up to 6 MB. Screenshots and compressed social-media downloads may have altered color.
